"Simple" Review

Evening!

Today I'm going to be doing a simple review of one of my favourite simple products: the Kind To Skin replenishing 12 hour moisturiser by simple! (See what I did there?)

I purchased this from Superdrug last week due to the fact I am very 'lacking' in the moisturiser part of my daily face routine and so therefore it was time to buy a new one. I picked this up for only £2.00 for 125ml thinking that if it wasn't quite what I was looking for it wasn't really a massive loss.

I apologise for the camera, still haven't gotten my nikon fixed yet! :(
Despite the fact that I wasn't expecting brilliant results from this due to its low price tag, it is actually surprisingly good. I had quite patchy dry places around my nose and lips due to the cold weather and this really helped me out, leaving my skin feeling 'replenished' as promised.

The texture of this cream is very soft, not too heavy and not too milky, just right! It's not too 'dewey' or greasy and it doesn't leave my skin looking remotely shiny like other moisturisers I have used in the past - which by the way was a big put off.

I think that this moisturiser is a good all round product with an added bonus of no horrible perfumes to cause irritation. I've been using it for about a week or so now everyday underneath my makeup and in the evening as a part of my daily skincare routine. It's packaging is good as well, no fancy frills or anything just straight to the point! It's also easy to control how much you use also meaning that you have no surprises when squeezing it out - WASTE NOT WANT NOT!

Sorry this post was a little late!
I didn't start until 7:45, oopsie me!
Goodbye beautys!
See you soon!

Grandad

It's FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Getting right to it - if you were wondering why I did not post on Wednesday evening, here's your answer. Sadly, on Tuesday morning I experienced the passing of my Grandad Bob and so I'd like to dedicate this blog post to him. Death is an everyday thing which everybody will experience the loss of a loved one at some point and despite the fact of knowing that death is inevitable we still are never quite prepared for it. I, personally, have never experienced the loss of a loved one, because, fortunately I suppose, the only members of my family that have passed away were when I was too young to even begin to recelect losing them at all and so therefore the past few days have been quite rough for me and my brother but I do believe I am ready to get back into the saddle of blogging.. so hello!

We, as a family, wish to celebrate our Grandfathers life (as a pose to mourning) and so therefore I feel as if I should play my part and include you guys in my life and write a blog post dedicated to him.

Grandad and I, perhaps my favorite photograph that I own of us two
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."

" You and I will meet again,
When we're least expecting it,
One day in some far off place,
I will recognize your face,
I won't say goodbye my friend,
For you and I will meet again."

I'd just like to hope that my Grandad has now been re-united with Gran, slow dancing to their favourite song and re-living their moments together.

Rest in Peace Grandad,
forever in our hearts.

New Blogging Days and Prom Dresses

Eveeeeening!

I've decided that because I really like things in a certain way in everything I do that it would be better if I was to specify "blogging days". This means it'll fit in with my schedule and I'll be able to fit it around revision, hospital appointments and just general life. And so consequently, my new blogging days will be Sunday, Wednesday and Friday (at probably between 5-7)! So if you're one of the people that sometimes enjoy having a nosey around FFF then pencil me into your diary!

Moving swiftly on, the time has came where everybody's rushing around (if they haven't yet) in order to get their prom dress and shoes and transport sorted but for me - it's not like that. Sadly, I may not get the opportunity to go to prom due to my low attendance due to hospital appointments and other causes meaning I needed to take the day off of school. Our school has a policy meaning that if you have attendance below 95% then we may not be allowed to go. Despite this there may be a chance that I get to go and so therefore, ba-du-bum DRESS SHOPPING!

I have this idea of the perfect dress that I'd really like to get but I've heard stories that some people have that idea and then realise that isn't actually what they want when they get it. If everything goes to plan I'd like a long black dress that touches the ground, sort of like an empire style dress but without the capped sleeves!

Despite what I just said, I just found this and I'm liking it!
£50.00 - New Look.
Bargain dress with the risk of having the same dress as another girl? I'm not gonna risk it!

Again, despite what I just said, I may have found the most beautiful dress (in my eyes) to ever excist..
If only it was in black *HUMUNGOUS SIGH*
And apparently I can buy this in Harrods and GAH NO PRICE.
Perhaps we're just not meant to be..

At this point it probably seems as if I'm liking the one shoulder thing.. I'm not, that's just the way things are going at the moment!
BINGO! This is.. fabulous.
Is this a potential win?
£74.00 from DresseShop.co.uk..
It's a bargain but an online shop? Mehhhhhh

I always struggle with how to end these posts. I am in love with all three of these dresses, all of them have potential I'm just unsure if they're risky buys? What are your opinions! What prom dresses did you get? Let me know!

I'm just gonna go with the classic, goodbye!

OOTD | Old Denim and New Shoes

Hiya everyone!

Today I'd like to share with you my first outfit of the day on this blog. If you're following me on tumblr you would've already seen this as I posted this on Saturday morning and so technically this isn't an OOTD it's SOTD.. Anyway, without further ado..

My dog Lucky clearly approves.

I am wearing an oversized denim shirt from Evans - which was my mums from way back in the day. I'd say she probably bought it in the 90's because there's baby pictures with her wearing it holding me (awww for baby Bex?). MOOOVING swiftly on as you can't purchase that any more!

I am also wearing high waisted stirrup leggings from - oh you're probably all going to hate me for this - George at Asda. I really wanted some high waisted leggings for a reasonable price and when I was shopping with my Nan a couple of months ago I came accross these and had a eureka moment. I bought them for the tiny price of £8 I believe and I actually got two pairs as they were so cheap!

My vest is just a simple - pick me up anywhere - kinda vest which I, personally bought from New Look for £2.99.

My bracelets are a mix from New Look and Primark and all different places - I was having a miss-match day.

And finally.. dum dum dummmm.. my new shoes! In my previous post if you've read that you would've noticed I said I was going to buy some new shoes, and well - here they are! Yes.. I know they're not very girly but I have my fair share of pumps and heels and I needed a change! I bought these from Size? for £65 (the cheapest I could find them) and I am in love with them.. apart from the fact they do take about a year to put on, but I love them all for it!

Click any of the links in the description to take a look.
Thanks for reading!
See you all next time!

QOTM | Being Yourself

Merry Prevening.
You'll know what I'm talking about if you watch The Big Bang Theory and if not well.. Hello!

Today I thought I'd start a new segment of my blog which I've been contemplating for a few weeks which is a Quote Of The Month which I'll tell you a quote which I plan to live by for this month in order to 'inspire' me and perhaps you so to speak.
I stole this from Tumblr. Thanks if this is your image!
I just think that this is quite a deep quote with quite a vast meaning. If you think about it there is quite a lot of people that are looking to put you down for not being the same as everyone else if maybe you don't have branded clothes or look the same as everybody else but who cares! Be yourself!

Also - everyone guess what, I'm buying new shoes! I guess that is what made me choose this quote for this month. Woo for new shoes anybody?

Thanks for reading my short and sweet blog post for today

Pretty Peplum

Hiya girlies (and guys)!

Last weekend I went and bought my first ever peplum top. I didn't think that I was a fan of these until I tried mine on as a 'spur of the moment' type thing and quite frankly - I am so glad that I did!

This peplum top was only £8.99 (another reason why I couldn't just leave it) from New Look and  according to the website it comes in five colours, cream like mine and an additional black, grey, dark green and rich purple.. I may have to go back and buy a different one as well!

At first I didn't like the idea of peplum tops on bigger people, surely it would show off all of the bits I didn't want to show off, but it actually does the opposite. I really like it.
Excuse the awkward pose and the scruffy background.. and how scruffy the top looks on when I'm posing.. Awkward.
So far I haven't yet worn mine on a casual occassion but I have worn it (above) with disco side-panelled leggings and black wedges. I think I am going to buy one of those peter pan collars to wear with it. Eek, so many opportunities from just one top.

By the way anybody looking to buy a peplum top, they have a sale on with lots and lots of peplum's for cheap prices so if I were you I'd go have a cheeky browse!

A few of my favourites for less:
Or

I never know how to end these..
Bye! Haha!

TOTW | Primark Views

Hello everybody!
This was gonna be one of those long rambly ones where I argue with myself time and time again, but then it turned into a mass thing where everybody wanted to be involved in my blog, so here's mine and two of the many that offered to help's opinion of Primark!

Ok so my views on Primark are pretty different than they were a few years ago. When I was in year seven I couldn't think of a place better than Primark - and lets be honest nobody could in year 7. Cheap clothes that are poorly made and that everybody is wearing, I better get myself some of that! Not anymore thank you very much.

The thing is, right up until a year or so ago I would much rather spend my money on so many clothes in Primark than a few more expensive items of clothing in a place like Republic or branded clothes like Superdry or Hollister (FYI, I still don't shop in hollister.. £50 for a pair of Jeggings that has a little bird on it? As if!) But now, I've completely switched my ideas around. Why not have a few clothes that'll last for quite a while that you know will fit and you'll be able to feel good in than loads of not that great clothes that dont really fit and that'll just end up going - for lack of a better word - crappy after a few weeks?

So I am in a bit of a dilemma here, cheap clothes that I could technically buy several of the same top so that when they break I can just start using the next for the same price I could get one top from a slighter upper market shop and wear for months, maybe even a year and get good wear out of it. So, I thought I'd ask my friends to see what they thought. I had so many people offering to help me out so if you're reading this and I didn't include your views, sorry, I still love you! So without further ado.. our "mini-interview"

Bex: Hi guys thanks for taking part in this, I'd just like to ask you a few questions about Primarni!
Okay, so number 1 is well.. Do you shop in Primark?
Dan: I do on occassions
Drew: Yeah when I get the chance, I'd love to more but it's not exactly "local" to us

So, guys why do you like or dislike it?
I like it because it's super cheap and good quality
> (I interrupt, oops) Are you sure it's good quality Dan?
Well, it's allright I guess, my chinos from there have lasted a while (sticks his tongue out unnessicarily)
What about you Drew, what do you think?
Honestly? I like primark because it's cheap but also dislike it for the same reason - As an on average size 8/10 I feel really unhappy with myself when I don't fit into size 14 clothes properly because they've been made cheaply. And then they fall apart and it's like - well that was a waste of a trip!
Ah yes! I really agree with that. I hate not being the same size I am in other shops, it's quite aggravating that I can't go into Primark and just pick up the size I know I am!
Uhh - I don't think I get that haha!

So what about the rumours about Primark's ethics? Does it make you any less eager to shop in there at all?
Honestly I do think it is wrong but I still don't mind buying the clothes literally because of the good pricing!
Well, yes and no. At the end of the day if people truly cared - why are Primark still open?People are clearly still interested in buying clothing from there. The human kind are very selfish and if it isn't outright affecting a person they don't care and if that's the majority view why should mine be different?
I think I'd probably agree with that to be fair - Drew, you've got so much to say you should get your own blog and we can be blog chums! (I would wink but I can't wink without looking like a chicken of some sort, so everybody - imagine I wink)

Finally guys, my last question is, would you rather spend £100 on an average amount of clothes at primark or £100 on a few items from a branded store?
Can I have £50 in both?
Dan, I'm not actually giving you the money, chill out! And no, you can't!
Well that sucks! Awkward uh, I'd probably go branded!
After all that sticking up for Primark you did Dan? I'm ashamed of you!
Sorry it's the brands that get me!
Drew, what's the final verdict?
Good question. Before, probably primark. Now I do prefer quality over quantity. I think it's a teen growing up thing.
I think so too.

I also asked a few of my other friends and they also think that now they're older they do prefer slightly more 'up market' stores, but who can blame us? Better quality clothing and now we're a little older I guess we can afford it more.. who knows? Maybe it is an age thing. All I know is I love Primark's sunglasses and pyjamas. What more can you ask for? - Probably a lot actually. OH WELL!

A big thanks to Drew and Dan for being my 'interview-ees'!
Leave me a comment on your opinion is on Primark - I'd love to hear it! Wahooo!
For now, Goodbye!

any views expressed are only ours and I tried my hardest to search around Primark's 'ethical' issues and therefore apologies in advance to anybody effected by this post.

My New Avon Products!

Eveeening!

Yes, I know what you're thinking "Bex, you posted that Avon post weeks ago! What are they playing at" and I know, I know but yes they have FINALLY been delivered and after a few days of vigorous testing I think it's time for me to give you all the opportunity to take a look at what I bought and also hear what I think about them, ooo how thrilling!

The first product I purchased was this Advance Techniques Firm Hold Hair Spray. I am currently loving this, it does it's job, holds my hair in place and surprisingly prevents frizz too  - what more can I ask for? Oh yes, it also does smell great, another bonus!

For the past year or so I've been using vo5's Strong Hold weather resistant hair spray - which is great - but I really needed one which I could 'lug' around when I go to my Mum's house or to my friends to stay the night and this fits perfectly into both my overnight/makeup bag and also my life as it is only 200ml! Perfecto-rino!

The next product is this brow definer (which I bought in blonde). I needed to sort out my eyebrows like majorly and who better to turn to than Avon? It gives the perfect look without looking like those girls with nikey ticks for eyebrows - reality check sweetie, that's not attractive (sorry if that's you, I'm just not a fan). This comes in I think, but don't quote me on this, three shades blonde to dark and is a HECK of a lot of product for what you pay for. You twist the top and out pops more - woooohoo, what a lovely description I gave, I should definitely get an A* in English... or not.

Thirdly I purchased Avon's blemish correcting stick and I can't fault it. I purchased this in the lightest shade and well it's not absolutely fabulous so much that I'm rushing to buy another one but it's not as bad as some other concealers I've used. I've been wearing this since I've had it underneath my foundation and yeah it is doing it's job I guess!

Finally I purchased this COLOURTREND nail enamel in the colour 'Very Violet', admittedly it did look different in the catalogue but once I took it out of the box I did like it, it's a bluey colour with shades of purple mixed in, it actually looks pretty cool! (Again with the description skills..) This I'm afraid wasn't the case with another nail varnish I purchased this time around I thought the picture didn't reflect the actual colour and so I had to send it back - Sorry Avon!

Despite this, this nail varnish is fab and I'd probably re-purchase. I'll be using it next week for my NOTW so you can see it properly then!

For now, that's all.
Thanks for reading everybody!
I'll see you in a couple of days!
Byeeee!

NOTW | Barry M Textured Polish

                                                            Hello again everybody!

So I haven't really been to the nail polish section of Superdrug on my last few visits and so I have not seen these but - OH MY GOSH - they are fab! I had just picked these up for the fact I liked the colours but then I realised that they had a cool little texture effect and instantly my mind was made up, I had to have these!
Picture from www.thesundaygirl.com

They have them in four pastel shades, Alantic Road (blue), Kingsland Road (pink), Station Road (yellow) and Ridley Road (minty, duck-eggy blue) and at the moment they are 2 for £6 in Superdrug so if you have £6 go and buy them now, this isn't an option, do it. I'm watching you. But all joking aside, these are fabulous and if I had £12 with me at the time (which wasn't allocated for Republic and other shopping - which I'll do a cheeky blogpost on in a few days) I would've bought all four, but for now I just have the mint and the pink.
You'll have to excuse the 'rough around the edges' look. Need to sort that out later post-relaxing bath time :)
Obviously, this polish won't be to everyone's taste - as it's not my Nan's, she said, and I quote "isn't nail varnish supposed to be shiny"... so yeah, if this takes your fancy I guess you should go and buy some! Wooooohoooo. Just incase you're an eager beaver, you can buy it right now by clicking here!

For now, I bid you farewell!

a littlle needed time out

Hello to all you beautiful people out there. This post is just gonna be short and sweet.

At the moment I'm going through a stage in which I am very low and am lacking a lot of motivation in everything I do so its due to this that I have to put my number one priority, blogging, aside for just a few more days so I can recollect myself and continue with normal life, if you will.

Sorry guys, I love you all so much;

Beauty Wishlist - February 2013

Hello everyone!

Firstly I'd like to start by saying that I've scrapped greeting you all with different languages, it's boring lol. Secondly I'd like to apologize that I haven't been able to blog recently, having my end of GCSE exams coming up means I'm studying a lot and also it meant I had to 're-do' my schedule to juggle revision, blogging and obviously - The Big Bang Theory so that meant I was out of sync for a few days. But, I am back *few*. So without further a do, my February beauty wishlist.

All of these products I'll be hoping to get hold of sooner or later but for now, I must just keep on wishing!

Number 1 on my list is Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream. This is pretty popular in the blogsphere and I am so excited to try and review this. Fingers crossed I'll be able to afford it sooner or later so roll on that moment!

Number 2 is Benefits 'they're real' mascara. I've been experimenting a lot with mascaras and I'm not a fan of some of the cheaper ones for example Miss Sporty as they make my eyelashes look clumpy and generally disgusting. I've never tried Benefit products before and this could perhaps be a potential starting point.. who knows?

Number 3 on my list is Bio-oil. On my arms I always get horrible bubbly skin (the only way I can think to describe it) and one of my friends said that they use Bio-oil for this and also stretch marks. I thought - hey why not give it a shot so that's what I'll be doing! Wahoooo!

Finally, number four on my list is 'Bioré Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips'! You may have seen/heard about these from Louise (sprinkleofglitr) on her channel and I'd really, REALLY love to give them a try.

And that's all for February's wishlist. I'll be back tomorrow, for now Bye! x x x

A BLAST FROM THE PAST?

Shabe Yabebabe Yeshe
(that's hello in a language called Chubby, heard of it? Me neither)

Have you ever had one of those days where you're not sure what kind of make-up to wear? Or just fancy a little cheeky change? Well look no further for I have adapted an old favourite from primary school into my own little cute make-up decision maker. Oooosh!

So who remembers these?

I do, me, me, me! You DO remember these right? When you would write things on the inside of them and ask your friends to pick numbers and tell them who they fancied? Well, I decided to write a few make up styles on the inside and when I'm having a bit of a day where I'm feeling a little adventurous, I would just pick a nail polish shade, two numbers and boom! I'm on my way to a wonderful make-up choice for that day!

Pick a number anyone?
When I did the test, I got 'smokey eyes'
My slightly 'adventurous' ideas

What would you get if you did the test? If you ever have crazy days where you're feeling adventurous or just days where you can't decide what to do with yourself you should definately make one for yourself. It's so simple (baring in mind, I did have to search the instructions. The year 4 girl inside of me wasn't quite shining through this evening) I'm not exactly a handy person and mine came out OK, although I do think I was better when I was little! But, try it yourself! Let me know if you do, I'd love to know if my fab/scummy idea is coming to use anywhere other than with myself!

C-A-U-G-H-T R-E-D H-A-N-D-E-D
Thanks for reading you beautiful people!
I hope my idea comes to good use,
Byeeee!

25 facts about me!

c'kemi!
(I think I'll start greeting you all in different languages, today; Albanian.. oooh!)

So I know that my opening blog post was pretty much several different facts about me but this is a pretty popular topic in the 'bloggasphere' and so therefore I feel abliged to partake!

1) My full name is Rebecca Jayne although if you call me this be warned that you may actually loose your head due to my mass amount of rage.

2) I have one best-est-est-est friend in the whole entire world and her name is Kyra. She's been my best friend since year 7 when we met in our tutor when we both thought eachother were disabled. Say "c'kemi Kyra" even though she isn't here but oh well, I'm sure she'll read this and smile hugely. We're both very weird which is probably why I love her to bits!
Kyra and I in my hot tub also last summer
(should probably get more recent pictures...)

Kyra last summer taking a cheeky selfie with my iPhone!

3) I used to be so overly confident but now I make my friend Tom do everything when we're out as in talking to people who would serve me as for some reason I am frightened of them and I have no idea why *sad face*

4) I mentioned about me being weird but honestly I am the weirdest person you'll EVER meet. You may read my Twitter and if you do you would have read about me pretending I'm playing a piano when typing on my keyboard, spin around in my computer chair dancing to music and talk to myself (a lot!) and I'm doing this all right now too!.. and that's not even anywhere near half of the odd things I get up to.

5) I use exclamation marks probably too much!

6) I try to not let other people's comments get me down too much - just 'get on with it' is usually my line when somebody feels the need to comment on me and what I do.

7) I've only ever had one proper relationship which probably caused me too much grief and I lost a lot of friends both during and after due to the fact we were in the same 'friends group'. I don't talk to him anymore and it's probably for the best. Relationships are too much drama! Having and spending time real friends is more important at this age!

8) I don't really have many hobbies and that's one of the main reasons I started this blog so that I could actually do something productive with my time rather than just sitting around and doing nothing.

9) I live with my grandparents and my big brother, Mark.

10) I also have a little brother called Alex that I don't actually live with but spend as much time as I can with.

Alex and I :)
11) I really dislike painting my nails, when they smudge all of the time and look gross and ew. I just hate it, yet it is probably the cosmetic product which I purchase the most.

12) I mentioned my friend Tom but the majority of the people I hang around with are actually boys. I don't know why - it's probably because boys have more fun and don't sit around and to put it bluntly 'bitch' all of the time hehe! I have three best friends and two of those are boys; Tom and Ryan and one is Kyra which I previously mentioned and they're all lovely and I don't know what I'd do without them *awww*

How fun...

The more I look at these photos the more I question
my choice of friends! Haha!

13) I am so rubbish at singing that I don't sing infront of anyone other than my best friends when we're joking about.

14) I've only ever been to one concert which was Bon Jovi, I'm hoping to go to more concerts and live events over the next few years.

Bon Jovi live at Ashton Gate in 2011

15) I've only ever been abroad 5 times and never out of Europe - I'd love to go to America!

16) I hate cereal, why you would ever combine milk in a bowl with random oaty food which tastes vile is beyond me. YUCK!

17)  I am obsessed with The Big Bang Theory if anybody says a quote I will almost certainly know what episode it is from.

18) Last year was a pretty bad year for me on the whole but I'm hoping that 2013 will be so much better and that I get out and do more things.

19) Ever since I've started writing my blog the upstairs lounge in our house has been magically transformed into my 'office'

20) I spend about an hour with my Daddy every Wednesday evening where we go to Sainsbury's cafe and have a coffee. Except for I don't like coffee so I have a pepsi max.

My Dad and I.. I have no idea what kind of face that is he is pulling...

21) I live my life by a schedule everything is very well planned in advance by at least 48 hours and I don't like making last minute plans.

22) I like to think that I can take proffessional photographs when in reality it's just me with "an oversized and overpriced camera" as somebody said at one point!
A picture I took in Autumn of 2012

23) I find it very hard to focus in the day and the cause of that apparently was that when I do sleep I am a very light sleeper and wake myself up even with the tiniest of moves without realising it, I like 'half sleep' meaning that I have to take sleeping tablets every night.

24)  I love long walks! They're one of my favourite things ever oh my gosh!

25) And finally, this fact may please any of you directioners out there.. my Aunt lives in the same village as Harry Styles used to live in!

Thanks for reading guys,
sorry it was a reeeeeally long one!
Now you know a little about me, write one yourself and link me to it :)
I'd love to hear about you.
For now - byeeeeeee!
